Exeter Catherdral

Exeter Cathedral is one of the most impressive historical buildings to visit. A stunning example of Gothic architecture that dates back to the 12th century. You can admire the intricate carvings, the magnificent vaulted ceiling, and the famous astronomical clock. The cathedral is wheelchair accessible and offers guided tours and audio guides.

Buckland Abbey, the former home of Sir Francis Drake, the famous explorer and naval hero. You can learn about his life and adventures, see his personal belongings, and enjoy the beautiful gardens and estate. The abbey has some wheelchair access, but not all areas are accessible. Castle Drogo

Castle Drogo, is the last castle to be built in England. Built by a wealthy businessman between 1910 and 1930, who wanted to create his own medieval fantasy. The castle is currently undergoing restoration, but you can still explore some of the rooms and admire the views over the Teign Valley. The castle has limited wheelchair access and a shuttle service from the car park.

Paignton Zoo Environmental Park is one of the largest zoos in the UK, with over 2,000 animals across 80 acres of land. You can see gorillas, giraffes, elephants, rhinos, crocodiles, penguins and more. You can also enjoy the botanical gardens, the jungle express train and the indoor play areas. The zoo is wheelchair accessible.

Dartmoor Zoological Park is a 30-acre zoo just north of the village of Sparkwell, on the south-west edge of Dartmoor. It has over 200 animals, including lions, tigers, bears, wolves, monkeys and more. You can also enjoy the beautiful gardens, play areas and cafe. The zoo is wheelchair accessible and has free parking.

National Marine Aquarium is the largest aquarium in the UK, with over 4,000 marine animals across 50 exhibits. You can see sharks, rays, turtles, octopuses, jellyfish and more. You can also learn about marine conservation, join the feeding sessions and touch pools, and watch the 4D cinema. The aquarium is wheelchair accessible and has a cafe and a shop.

Blackpool Sands Beach, Dartmouth 

Beaches galore! For instance, Blackpool Sands, Dartmouth. This award-winning beach is only 15 miles from Dartmoor and has stunning views of the coastline. It has a range of facilities for wheelchair users, including a beach wheelchair, a disabled toilet, and a ramp to the sand. You can also enjoy the Venus Café, which serves delicious food and drinks.
